Some shoppers could find themselves starting their journey at a big-box store. Those big-box stores usually have a decent amount of inventory and while their prices are only a little bit better than the commission-based guys down the street, you wouldn't know that better prices can be found elsewhere. Beyond that, the big-box guys are swamped with lots of other work. While they aren't commission-based, they may not have intimate knowledge of the firearm you're interested in.
